Elena Guido is a Non-Resident James A. Kelly Fellow at the Pacific Forum specialising in inter-Korean relations, DPRK-Russia relations, and Indo-Pacific security. Her research as a fellow focuses on DPRK-Russia-China narrative coordination in the Global South. Guido is also a researcher at the Leiden Asia Centre, where she manages the Korea portfolio, focusing on the topics of DPRK-ROK relations, nuclear risk dynamics and the implications of these developments for international security. She has led policy-relevant research commissioned by the Dutch MoFA on the Russia-DPRK military partnership. She contributes as an expert to the Open Nuclear Network, supporting monitoring and forecasting using OSINT and foresight methodologies. Previously, she interned at PSCORE, in Seoul, contributing to a UN-submitted report on internet freedom in North Korea. Guido holds two Master’s degrees from Leiden University in International Relations and East Asian Studies and has published in several policy and academic outlets, including The Diplomat.
