K. Tristan Tang

K. Tristan Tang is currently a Nonresident Vasey Fellow at the Pacific Forum. He is also an Associate Fellow at the Secure Taiwan Associate Corporation and the Center for China Studies at National Taiwan University, and a co-founder of the Taiwan Defense Studies Initiative, where he serves as project lead for wargaming. His research focuses on the People’s Liberation Army and Taiwan’s security. His work has appeared in the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, CMSI Notes, China Brief, The Diplomat, and PacNet. His analyses and wargaming activities have been reported or cited by the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission’s annual report, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Telegraph, Taiwan Plus, among others. He holds an M.A. from the Graduate Institute of Political Science at National Taiwan University and a B.A. in Public Security from the Central Police University.
