Sakshi Shree

Sakshi Shree is a dynamic researcher, policy analyst, and youth advocate working at the intersection of international affairs, defence strategy, and youth leadership. With a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Delhi, she brings a unique blend of policy insight and on-ground experience to global diplomacy, climate action and national security.

Her journey spans critical roles, from shaping discussions on technology developments and cybersecurity at the SatCom Industry Association (SIA-India) to contributing to maritime governance at the National Maritime Foundation. A former Junior Under Officer in the NCC, she trained over 500 cadets and continues to champion youth engagement in national defence and policy. Currently serving as the Co-Lead of Policy Cluster, YOUNGO(Children and Youth Constituency), UNFCCC, focusing on Peace and Security, Ocean and other SDGs.

Sakshi leads global youth dialogues on peace, defence strategy, climate security, ocean resilience, and human rights, collaborating with MoD, India, UNEP, UNDP, IUCN, and UNODA. She has represented youth perspectives at COP29, UNEA-6, World Environment Summit, UNEP Summit, and the IUCN Regional Conservation Forum and other international ministerial dialogues and forums, where she emphasised youth –climate linkages and sustainable coastal resilience. She has been featured as a Young Leader at the Pacific Forum and a Rising Leader at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung India. She is a Non-Resident Fellow at IPSC (Indo-Pacific Studies Centre).

Her collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Indian Navy on projects related to the Indian Navy’s Space Vision and youth contributions to India’s National Security Strategy made a huge impact. Noteworthy is her representation as a Global Youth Ambassador at Theirworld, London, advocating for inclusive and quality education under UN Sustainable Development Goals 4,13,17. Her books, “Sakshya” and “Up above the World so High,” raise awareness about climate change, femininity, and self-discovery. She won the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award for her work and was recognised as a national Poet.

An accomplished individual, Ms Sakshi Shree is not confined to being a researcher; she is also a published author, speaker, and a prominent figure for advocating peacebuilding and peacekeeping. Her multifaceted skills, coupled with an impassioned drive for positive change, position her as a standout figure in the evolving landscape of international relations, security and climate action.
