Session 1: The Myanmar-US relationship
This session will focus on the Myanmar-US relationship. How have relations between Myanmar and the United States changed over the past year? How have perceptions about the relationship changed? What are the priorities for further development and improvement? What are the key challenges? How can they be overcome? Do these challenges impact on nonproliferation implementation by Myanmar?

Session 2: Nonproliferation implementation
This session will examine the status of Myanmar’s accession to, and implementation of, key nonproliferation treaties. What progress has Myanmar made toward implementing the Additional Protocol and modified Small Quantities Protocol? What steps has Myanmar taken to incorporate the Biological and Chemical Weapons Conventions into its national laws and regulations? What are the challenges to progress? How can the US be of help? How will the United States approach the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons?  What result must emerge from the 2020 NPT RevCon for the United States to consider it a successful conference?

Session 3: Nuclear, biological, and chemical safety and security implementation
This session will examine Myanmar’s implementation of nuclear, biological, and chemical safety and security conventions. What are the next steps for implementing the Amended Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and the Convention on Nuclear Safety? How does Myanmar manage the safety and security of radioactive sources? How can such management be improved? What external agencies can provide assistance?

Session 4: Myanmar and ASEAN networks on the 3 S’s
This session will explore Myanmar’s role in official and unofficial networks dealing with the 3 S’s. What is Myanmar’s current involvement in these initiatives? How can Myanmar promote, and take advantage of, ASEAN’s institutions, notably the Bangkok Treaty and ASEANTOM? How can Myanmar enhance its involvement with other initiatives, especially in the lead-up to, and the aftermath of, the 2020 NPT Review Conference?

Session 5: The challenge of emerging technologies for export control implementation
This session will explore the challenge posed by emerging technologies for export control implementation. What are these emerging technologies? What challenges do they pose? What lessons have states, industry, and research scientists learnt? How is the United States adapting its export control policy in response? What are the goals, objectives, and implications of the new legislative changes?

Session 6: Implementing UN sanctions
This session will discuss implementation of UN sanctions. What are the provisions and implementation requirements of UN sanctions regimes on North Korea and Iran? What are the main goals and priorities of these regimes? What are the best practices to implement these regimes? What are the challenges to implement these regimes? How can these challenges be overcome? How is the United States implementing UN sanctions against the DPRK?  What are the United States’ priorities in its pressure campaign against the DPRK?
