U.S.-Japan Strategic Dialogue
24 February, 2008 - 26 February, 2008
5:00 am
The dialogue explores strategic dimensions of the bilateral relationship and focuses on the role of deterrence. This is a new project that brings together a small, select group of experts to examine in detail the two countries’ views of the strategic environment and the mechanics of the alliance.
This meeting will bring together a small, select group of Japanese and American experts and officials in their personal capacities to share perspectives on pressing strategic problems and their impact on the U.S.-Japan alliance. We hope to identify areas of concern, possible misunderstandings, and practical steps for more effective bilateral cooperation.
