PacNote #2 – Pacific Forum Job Announcement

The Honolulu-based Pacific Forum International is seeking applications for the position of Pacific Forum President. Applicants should have extensive policy-making, managerial, and leadership experience and expertise on security issues throughout the Indo-Pacific region. The position requires extensive travel, plus frequent speaking opportunities and writing proficiency. The Pacific Forum International is a fully independent, private, non-partisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit foreign policy research institute focusing on peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

Pacific Forum is a vibrant team and impactful organization, steadily growing despite the challenges of pandemic we’ve all experienced over the past year. I look forward to passing the helm and seeing our growth continue while remaining on hand as a Board member, to assist my successor in whatever manner they desire.”

The Pacific Forum  (www.pacforum.org) was originally established in 1975 by RADM Lloyd R. “Joe” Vasey, USN (ret) to “find a better way” of resolving conflict and building confidence among nations in the Indo-Pacific region; a mission it continues to grow today in its research, dialogues, publishing and next generation fellowship and young leader programs. Applicants should provide an analytical assessment (800-1000 words) on a current security-related topic that demonstrates writing and analytical proficiency, along with a current CV and a statement of what they would bring to the Forum and his or her vision for the Forum’s future.

Starting salary range between $140,000 – $160,000. Start date on/about June 1, 2021 with involvement, once selected, in Pacific Forum activities prior to that date. A selection committee will review all applications and make recommendations to the Pacific Forum Board of Directors which will make the final selection on or before March 31, 2021.
