Xiaoyi (Yee) Ze

Xiaoyi (Yee) Ze’s research interests include international relations, East Asian culture and history, Chinese diaspora, and international development. She holds a PhD in Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia and a MA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her PhD dissertation centers on East Asia international relations in the late nineteenth century, with the aim of leading to a better understanding of the dynamics of imperialism, diaspora, and the concept of international law. Xiaoyi also has diverse work experience in international organizations, including the Global Green Growth Institute, the United Nations Volunteer Programme, the East-West Center, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. Her current research focuses on climate policies and the Green ODA (Official Development Assistance) of the Republic of Korea and its neighbouring countries in Asia.
