ITP Fellowship

The India Tech Policy (ITP) Fellowship, sponsored by the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program at the US Department of State, engaged fellows over 12 months in research and analysis of the existing policy and legal frameworks impacting the semiconductor industry.

The fellowship culminated in fellows’ papers, which included policy recommendations for India on promoting R&D, protecting sensitive technologies, securing supply chains, and protecting IP.

Following months of research and guidance under the supervision of Pacific Forum experts and mentors, fellows took a tour of mainland US sites, meeting industry experts and government officials in the cities of:

· Washington DC

· San Jose, California

· Phoenix, Arizona, and

· Austin, Texas.

The tour informed their research and recommendations, which will guide India’s efforts at becoming a semiconductor hub in the coming years, as well as US efforts at securing supply chains through partnerships with friendly countries.
