Ms. Varuna Shankar is an Editorial Manager at India’s World Magazine, based in New Delhi. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the School of Liberal Arts, G.D. Goenka University, India. She is a Non-Resident Vasey Fellow at the Pacific Forum (2025-26). She holds a master’s in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and a Bachelor’s in Political Science (Hons) from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. Her research interest focuses on East Asia, the Indo-Pacific region, and Indian foreign policy. Previously, she was an Assistant Director at the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI). She has interned at the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in New Delhi.
