International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)

In 2024, Pacific Forum joined the Global Ties US network as the local programming partner in Honolulu for the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Through short-term visits, the IVLP program provides current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields the opportunity to experience the United States firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with counterparts in the US.

In 2024, we welcomed the following IVLP groups to Honolulu:

• Understanding US Indo-Pacific Policy (Indonesia)
• Cultivating Scholarship in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan)
• Economic Development of Coastal Cities (Papua New Guinea)
• Accelerating Clean Energy Deployment (Japan)

We are excited for this new avenue of engagement and look forward to welcoming future IVLP groups to Honolulu!
