Honolulu, Hawaii, April 16th, 2024 – The Pacific Forum is delighted to announce the return of its Annual Dinner, a cornerstone fundraising event set to take place on April 16th, 2024, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This year holds special significance as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of our Young Leaders program, a milestone in cultivating the next generation of international policy professionals.

The Annual Dinner serves as a crucial fundraiser, providing essential unrestricted financial support for the Pacific Forum’s initiatives.

Our esteemed chairman, Jim Kelly, former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian/Pacific affairs, will be honored for his invaluable contributions to our organization.

Celebrating Young Leaders: Join us in commemorating two decades of the Young Leaders program, a platform that has nurtured over 1,000 scholars and foreign policy professionals from 56 countries. Learn how this initiative continues to shape the future of international policy affairs.

Distinguished Keynote Speakers: We are honored to feature Young Leaders alumni, Eric Sayers, Managing Director at Beacon Global Strategies LLC; Adjunct Fellow and Director of the Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs and Assistant Professor of Asian Studies at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, Kristi Govella; and current Young Leader and nonproliferation fellow, Brandt Mabuni, for a panel discussion about US foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific

Brad Glosserman, Pacific Forum’s Senior Adviser and Deputy Director and Visiting Professor  at Center for Rule-Making Strategies at Tama University, will be moderating the panel.

Their insights promise to provide a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of the Indo-Pacific.

Expert MCs: The event will be moderated by Ralph A. Cossa, President Emeritus and WSD-Handa Chair in Peace Studies, and David Santoro, President of the Pacific Forum, ensuring insightful discussions throughout the evening.

Kelly, Chairman of the Board and President Emeritus of Pacific Forum, is a distinguished figure in international affairs, having served as a former assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs. With a rich background spanning decades of diplomatic service, Mr. Kelly’s contributions to peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region are unparalleled.

Since its inception in 2004, the Young Leaders Program has been a beacon for aspiring professionals in international policy affairs. With over 1,000 current members from 56 countries, the program continues to empower the next generation of leaders by fostering cross-cultural opportunities and honing policy analysis skills.

In a significant gesture of support, board members of the Pacific Forum will match donations made towards the Young Leaders program during the Annual Dinner, up to a total of $14,000. This initiative underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of foreign policy leaders and celebrates two decades of dedicated effort in the Indo-Pacific region.
