The collapse of communism and the deepening economic crisis of North Korea have led many to consider that the unification of Korea is no longer in the realm of aspiration but of reality. In fact, many believe that the question is no longer “whether” unification will occur, but “how,” “when” and “with what consequences.” It is even becoming fashionable to say that unification will occur in the near future.
