Tim Lawler is a PhD candidate in politics at the University of Auckland researching how U.S. presidents responded to terrorism prior to 9/11. In 2024, Tim returned from a year of research in the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship where he studied at Yale, Vanderbilt, and George Washington University. He currently also works as a policy and research adviser at the Australian APEC Study Centre. His research interests include U.S. foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific and U.S. counter-terrorism policy.
