Geoeconomics and Economic Statecraft

Pacific Forum’s Geoeconomics and Economic Statecraft Program examines the intersection of economic policy, trade and development assistance, critical technologies, and supply chains across the Indo-Pacific—with a focus on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, supply chain resilience, and the growing weaponization of economic interdependence.

Through research, fellowships, seminars, and high-level convenings across Northeast and Southeast Asia, the program advances:

  • Semiconductor and critical technology policy, including export controls
  • Trusted supply chain and near-shoring strategies
  • Development of emerging experts through targeted fellowship programs

The program builds regional capacity and fosters coordination among allies and partners on the economic security challenges defining today’s strategic landscape.
